How the fake follower check works

Warning signs of fake followers
- Very low engagement for the size. An account with 200K followers but 300 likes a post is the clearest sign of bought or inactive followers.
- Likes without conversation. Thousands of likes but almost no comments can mean bought likes.
- Reels nobody watches. Real audiences watch; reels that reach a tiny share of followers are a red flag.
- Big jumps between posts. A few posts with ten times the usual likes can be bought engagement (or one genuinely viral reel).
- Follow-for-follow growth. Following thousands of accounts brings followers who never engage.
- Generic comments. Emoji-only and one-word comments repeated across posts often come from bots or engagement groups.
